Pumpkin Shape Tracing

Shape Tracing Worksheets:

With these amazing, cute and educational Pumpkin Tracing Sheets your preschool students will learn how to trace various shapes. Students will learn the names of each shape and how to draw each one of the 10 included shapes. These tracing worksheets are great for building preschool math skills.

Shape Tracing Worksheets:

This collection of free shape tracing worksheets includes 10 popular shapes:

  • Diamond Tracing Worksheet
  • Rectangle Tracing Worksheet
  • Square Tracing Worksheet
  • Circle Tracing Worksheet
  • Star Tracing Worksheet
  • Oval Tracing Worksheet
  • Triangle Tracing Worksheet
  • Heart Tracing Worksheet
  • Hexagon Tracing Worksheet
  • Octagon Tracing Worksheet

With this many different worksheets, you can assemble them together to make a shape tracing booklet for students to take home. We’ve even included a handy cover page below if you want to make take-home booklets for children to practice with! (HINT: Look at the pumpkin leaves, they are the same shape as the pumpkin! How cute is that?) Actually, you could pair this set with our Pumpkin Patch Shape Coloring Worksheet for a great unit!

Dry Erase Game Mat

Students need LOTS of practice tracing! Not only will it build fine motor skills, but it will build the confidence they need to begin handwriting in the coming year. Rather then reprinting the tracing pages over and over, you can save paper by using a dry erase mat or a page protector! That way your preschoolers can use the trace sheets over and over again! For extra practice have students practice writing the shape word as well.

Shape Activities for Preschoolers

If you are looking to add a little hands-on elements to your shapes lessons, try providing students with pipe-cleaners! Show them how to bend them to form the shape to match the shape mat. For younger students you can even make a variety of the shapes ahead of time and have them match the correct shape or sizes.

Hands-On Shape Activities:

If you don’t have pipe-cleaners on hand, you could even use a bit of string. Just pre-cut the yarn to fit around the shape mats. Students will use their small motor muscles to wrap the string into the correct shape. This is a great way to build multiple skills with the same worksheet.

Pumpkin Tracing Worksheets:

There are many different ways to use the Pumpkin Trace Sheets. You can trace the shapes with a marker, yarn, pipe cleaners, or just your finger. No assembly is needed just print and go!
