How cute is that?) Actually, you could pair this set with our Pumpkin Patch Shape Coloring Worksheet for a great unit!

Dry Erase Game Mat

Students need LOTS of practice tracing! Not only will it build fine motor skills, but it will build the confidence they need to begin handwriting in the coming year. Rather then reprinting the tracing pages over and over, you can save paper by using a dry erase mat or a page protector! That way your preschoolers can use the trace sheets over and over again! For extra practice have students practice writing the shape word as well.

Shape Activities for Preschoolers

If you are looking to add a little hands-on elements to your shapes lessons, try providing students with pipe-cleaners! Show them how to bend them to form the shape to match the shape mat. For younger students you can even make a variety of the shapes ahead of time and have them match the correct shape or sizes.

Hands-On Shape Activities:

If you don’t have pipe-cleaners on hand, you could even use a bit of string. Just pre-cut the yarn to fit around the shape mats. Students will use their small motor muscles to wrap the string into the correct shape. This is a great way to build multiple skills with the same worksheet.

Pumpkin Tracing Worksheets:

There are many different ways to use the Pumpkin Trace Sheets. You can trace the shapes with a marker, yarn, pipe cleaners, or just your finger. No assembly is needed just print and go!
