Robot Pom-Pom Mats

Robot Activities for Kids

Each colorful robot needs help finding all their parts! Students use colorful pom-poms to match the dots on each robot. Using a large set of tweezers, students will build stronger small motor muscles they will need later on down the road as they learn handwriting skills. These pre-handwriting skill builders are great for strengthening the needed muscles.

Free Robot Printables

These free printables are really print & go. We recommend laminating them or storing them in a page protector for reuse. Since you are using all that color ink printing them, you’ll want to be able to reuse them with all of your children for years to come. TIP: When your own homeschool students outgrow your resources, consider donating them to a daycare or preschool center.

You don’t have to use Pom-Poms each time you bring out these learning mats. Sticking with the robot theme, you might use painted nuts and bolts or even colorful magnets on a cookie sheet. There are lots of ways to breathe new life into our learning mats so that students are getting full use of the resource. I’ve even seen Magnetic Pom-Poms in which a teacher has glued a small magnet to the bottom of a pom. Get creative with the resources you have to create a lasting impression on your young students.

Print our free robot learning mats below. If you don’t want to print them, you could try downloading them to a large tablet and having students place poms on them that way, but I’d recommend using Mini-Poms. Mini-poms are one of my absolute favorite resources, just be sure you are supervising your students as they are quite small.
